Allodola [n.] Italian, from Latin alauda

1. lark, skylark

Dino has been very adamant in his opinion of not calling Hibari his ‘boyfriend’. The reasons for which are that the aforementioned label has been sparingly used and in truth, now holds very little value. He would prefer partner— as he believes Hibari is his equal (though other terms of endearment can sometimes slip, he really just doesn’t want the more casual way of saying it).

He does call Hibari ‘allodola’ with the above definition, more often; it’s not so much a petname in a way that it’s actually literal— though perhaps, sounding quite profound to the other being it’s in a different language. The prefect’s reactions are that of nonchalance which is more or less a good thing, coming from Hibari himself.
